Diving into our world of swimwear, this blog invites you on a behind-the-scenes exploration of why Alasaros was created, sharing the inspirations and unwavering commitment to crafting lifestyle-swimwear that celebrates holiday living everywhere you go. Alasaros has shared a glimpse of her story and creation of the brand.
'Growing up, my fascination with the fashion realm consumed much of my spare time and imagination. Constantly seeking avenues for creativity, I poured my passion into illustrations, garment designs and an endless magazine collection. Transitioning into fashion college was pivotal, as it transformed my hobbies into reality, with diving into the depths of our fashion world. Interning with renowned brands further enriched my understanding and journey.
Through out my life I have been fortunate enough to continue visiting my family's hometowns in Croatia and Greece, soaking up our cultures, landscapes, island hoping and distinctive fashion scenes. An on going desire was to blend Mediterranean influences with a contemporary touch when back home in Australia. The concept of lifestyle-swimwear emerged with a strong passion—a fusion of vibrant aesthetics and practical design, reflecting the life found in coastal living for all hours and travel.
With versatility at the heart of my approach, I crafted each piece with wearability in mind, ensuring that every collection featured ready-to-wear swimwear silhouettes. Departing from traditional runway norms, I aim to change up how we see swimwear with not merely reserved for beach days but as key pieces for my wardrobe. Central to my design philosophy is a vibrant palette, celebrating complementary tones as timeless essentials. Rejecting the notion that versatility means to be neutral, I believe in the enduring appeal of bold shades.
I've always admired the local fashion boutiques abroad when travelling; vibrant colourways, luxurious textures, and refined attention to traditional styles, with always a story to tell. Sustainability has always been at the forefront, with durable pieces taking priority. In wanting to establish my own brand, I've remained committed to the principles of slow fashion and sustainability, to not compromise these values for the sake of cost or rapid production.
I wanted to produce purely in collections, with each range having a story to tell and a feeling I can share with other people. A lifestyle people can admire.'
